The participants of the alliance were interested in the unique location and intensity of economic development of the region.

The global cargo alliance of air carriers SkyTeam Cargo is ready to strengthen work in the Far East. First of all, air carriers are attracted by the location of the region, which opens up prospects for the development of cargo communication with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. This was stated by the vice-president of the alliance Nicholas van der Linden during the annual conference of participants of the cargo market SkyTeam Cargo, which was held in Vladivostok on July 19 on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University.

The event was attended by representatives of more than 30 Russian and foreign logistics companies.

As Irina Lapitskaya, the director of the Far Eastern branch of PJSC Aeroflot, noted, opening the conference, for the first time such a large-scale international event in the sphere of freight transportation is taking place in the Far East. "Today Vladivostok is one of the economic centers and the largest transport and logistics hubs. Therefore, the issues of freight transportation, logistics and the prospects for their development are becoming more important," she added.

The participants of the conference were acquainted with the offered airlines of the alliance with cargo transportation services, as well as with the news on the introduction of electronic document management in the transport of goods in Russia.

The head of the sales department of the cargo transportation department and the coordinator of Aeroflot in the SkyTeam Cargo alliance Andrey Druzhinin said that every year the number of points where Aeroflot, considering the expansion of the network of routes of the alliance airlines, can send cargoes, respectively, and the opportunities of consignors. "For the Aeroflot, the Far Eastern region is very important, one of the primary values is given to him in the company," he stressed.

Note that currently the SkyTeam alliance includes 12 airlines that represent five continents (the association does not yet include airlines in Africa and the Middle East). However, as the vice-president of the alliance Nicholas van der Linden said, the alliance will soon expand - a new participant who will join the alliance will affect these territories.

According to Mr. van der Linden, the annual conference of participants of the cargo market SkyTeam Cargo is held in Vladivostok not by accident - the region is a kind of hub between Europe and the Asia-Pacific countries.

"We are ready to work with the Far East, this region is important, despite the fact that it is paying less attention than Moscow and St. Petersburg.First of all, the Far East is unique in its location, it is in the center of the Asia-Pacific region, it is close to China, is doing well in online trading, "the vice president of the alliance said.

According to Ivan Mukhin, head of the group of freight and postal services at the Far East branch of PJSC Aeroflot, the Far Eastern region is a strategic one with a huge development potential. "With the introduction of the port of franco, the creation of special economic zones, we see a serious growth in logistics activity in the region, an interest in multimodal transportation, and air transport plays a significant role in this regard, especially given our distances." With the increase in freight traffic for us and for logistics companies it is extremely important to improve the level of service with the end user.I think that within the framework of the event we managed to reach a constructive dialogue, identify current issues and exchange accumulated experience ", he noted.

This view was supported by the director of the AirFrance / KLM airline in Central and Eastern Europe, Patrick Bazelot.

"The Far East is interesting for the transit strategy. When we speak about the development of this region, we do not mean active expansion, we are talking about the integration of new members of the alliance into a new structure. Our goal is to create a large-scale quality freight carrier that can fly anywhere in the world ", - he said.

According to the participants, the event was constructive, in a friendly atmosphere, which helped to strengthen the image and position of PJSC Aeroflot in the SkyTeam Cargo alliance, and once again confirmed the demand for the airline's services from Russian and foreign shippers. The participants of the event expressed interest in the products of the alliance, as well as the desire to participate in such annual conferences in the future.
